North Ridge Riders Model Horse show

NAN cards will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place equids in each division. Green cards will be awarded in halter divisions and yellow awarded in collectability and workmanship. Entry fee/form:
* $50.00 for entrants physically attending the show. Please note: Shared entries are not permitted -- each shower must pay an entry fee.
* $20.00 for proxy entrants (those not physically attending the show).
* Entrants are required to sign the “release” section of the entry form. Please send the completed/signed entry form along with entry fee to:

· Entry fees may be paid in form of Money Order, Cashier/Bank Check, or personal check and made payable to “Janet Daltner.” If a personal check is returned for insufficient funds, you will be charged $30.00 for an insufficient fund check fee
· This will be a small show that will be held in conjunction with the North Ridge Riders 4H show and there will be a closed novice show for the club members.
Entry Deadline: Entries must be received by February 1, 2014. Entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis. After February 1st, the entry fee will increase to $65.00
Refunds: Refunds are at the discretion of the show holders. Sorry but refunds will not be given for inclement weather.
Show Start Time: The show will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. The show hall will open at 7:00 a.m. for showers to begin setting up.
Awards: Paper awards will be given for 1-5th place. These can be turned in signed for the Chinese auction.
*Section champs/reserves and overall champs/reserves awards will be awarded ribbons; division champs will receive Rosettes.
1st and 2nd place winners will be called back for Champions and Reserves for halter divisions. Collectability champs will be awarded separately. The awards are solely at the decision and opinion of the judge. No questions.
*Note: Judges will only be recording 1st and 2nd place winners to save on time.
Food: The 4H club will run the kitchen and all proceeds will benefit the fund raising of the club.
Fun Division: Fun classes will be judged during the lunch break. These classes will not receive NAN cards. Awards will be given for these classes. The club members will also be invited to participate in this class.
There MAY be a silent auction. Definitely a Chinese auction.
Entrants are permitted to sell items from their show tables. However, please keep isle ways open!

Code of conduct: Inappropriate/unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated! Showers may be asked to the leave the show hall/premises without receiving a refund of their entry fee. Please be respectful of fellow showers, judges and show staff. Judge’s decisions are final. Please be respectful and follow the rules as indicated in this show packet!
NO pets are permitted in the show hall unless it is a service type animal.
Smoking is not permitted in the show hall.
An adult must attend children at all times!
Do not pick up another shower’s model(s) without their permission. If you break it, you buy it, owner’s price.
The North Ridge Riders 4H club, Janet Daltner and North Park of Allegheny County, PA; are not responsible for theft, accidents, personal injury, property loss or damage, etc.
If you have questions please ask the judge either before or after they finish judging. Do not interrupt judges while they are judging a class.
Judge’s decisions are final. Any unsportsmanlike conduct, aggressively questioning the judge or harassing the judge and that person will be asked to leave the premises and no refund will be issued.
Class Limits: As this is a relatively small show, there is a limit of 4 models per exhibitor per class in the halter divisions; There is a limit of 2 entries per exhibitor in the fun classes If an exhibitor enters more than the allowed number of models per class, the extra models will be be asked to pay one dollar per horse
Halter: Documentation is strongly suggested in cases where breeds are rare, unusual, exotic, etc. Halters are not required in the halter division. If using a halter please make sure it is appropriate for the and that it fits properly as judges will deduct points for halters that do not fit properly or are not appropriate for the breed type. Halter classes are judged on the appropriate breed assignment, conformation and flaws (i.e. rubs, scratches, lint under gloss, other obvious flaws, etc.) Please limit documentation to a small book or full or half sheet of paper. Large books take up too much room on the show tables.
Original Finish Plastic: This includes Breyer, Stone, Schelich, Papo, Hartland, etc. type models. Any plastic type model that is still in its original finish condition – if it has been altered in any way it must show in the custom division.
Artist Resin: This is for resins that have been sculpted by an artist and sold unpainted for painting by an artist. This includes resins sculpted by artists such as Sarah Rose, Carol Williams, Brigitte Eberl, Stacey Tumlinson, Shelia Bishop Anderson, Jennifer Irwin Scott, D’arry Jone Frank, Kitty Cantrell (not her Starlight Models!), Lynn Fraley, etc. and cast in resin by companies such as Resins By Randy, Mountain View Studios, Rose Studios, Laf ‘N Bear, DaBar, etc. This does not include resins that have been mass produced and released in an original finish form and/or which have been repainted from their original finish (i.e. Starlight models by Kitty Cantrell, Sheryl Leisure models, Black Horse Ranch (BHR) models, Breyer resins/porcelains, Lakeshore models, etc.).
Custom: This is for models that have been customized from their original finish. They can be repainted, repositioned, remade, etc. Mass produced resin type models that have been repainted must show in this division (i.e. Black Horse Ranch, Starlight models by Kitty Cantrell, Sheryl Leisure resin models, Breyer OF Resins, Lakeshore models, etc.).
China/OF Resin: This is for models that are made of China or mass produced original finish resin. This includes but not limited to: Animal Artistry, Horsing Around, Hagen Renaker, Lakeshore, Breyer Resin/Porcelain, Black Horse Ranch (BHR) resin, Loza, Japan chinas, Beswick, Franklin Mint, Lenox, Starlight Originals resin, etc. Custom Glaze models do NOT show in this division!
Mini Size: Classics, Curio, Little Bit/Paddock Pal/Pebbles, Stablemate/Chips, and Mirco Mini/Mini Whinnie sized models. Mini sized models are to show only in their respective mini divisions. Minis are permitted to show in divisions titled “all sizes” as there are not separate mini divisions for certain “makes.”
Tippy or fragile models are permitted to be laid on cloth on the show table for judging. Judges reserve the right to pick the model up to inspect it during judging, however, entrants are NOT permitted to pick the model up from a show table.
Foals are permitted to show only in the designated foal classes. Foals are considered age yearling and younger.
There will be a 3-minute limit between classes for set up in halter divisions.
String tags are required with the following information: side 1 – horse’s name & your three (3) initials; side 2 – horse’s breed & gender. You must provide your own string tags! They can be purchased at a variety of stores (i.e. Wal-Mart, Target, Cosco, Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, etc.). When sitting your model/entry on the table for judging, please make sure the breed/gender side of the tag is facing up. Judges reserve the right to disqualify an entry with the horse’s name & shower’s initials facing up.
Judges reserve the right to split, combine classes or disqualify entries, as they deem necessary.
Judges are permitted to show only in divisions they are not showing.
